Pollution Probe asked for help injecting fresh energy to boost attendance and sponsorship at their 2011 Annual Gala Dinner, the charitable group’s flagship fundraiser, which unites 400 to 500 business and government leaders to network and celebrate. Proceeds support Pollution Probe’s work to advance public policy to effect positive environmental change.
On a short timeline, the Green Living team planned and sourced a dynamic and sustainable event around the theme Catalysts of Innovation. Guests entered the event on a “red carpet” made by Sustainable Dance Floor, which captures the energy of movement and converts it to electricity. Sponsors benefited from the increased exposure and networking opportunities presented by two new initiatives: Logos were featured on various touch points throughout the evening, from napkins to vases of eco-flowers, and sponsors showcased their leading-edge environmental initiatives at the cocktail reception. This year’s gala successfully introduced entertainment: a live performance by award-winning jazz singer Emilie-Claire Barlow.
The 2011 Gala Dinner was a sold-out event with record attendance. Anecdotally, Pollution Probe heard from supporters that it was the best gala the charitable environmental organization has ever had. Within 24 hours after the event, the charity had already secured two sponsors for the 2012 event.
